Connect your agent to WhatsApp

You can message your agent from your own WhatsApp. You link it the same way you'd link WhatsApp Web: scan a QR code with your phone. After that, you chat with your agent in your own "Message yourself" thread.

Before you start

• Your agent must be running or sleeping (check the status on Agents).
• You need to be a workspace admin to connect messaging apps.
• Have your phone with WhatsApp nearby.

Connect WhatsApp

1. Open your agent and start a New chat.
2. Under the empty chat, click the Connect pill. The Messaging apps window opens.
3. Click Connect WhatsApp. A QR code appears.
4. On your phone, open WhatsApp and go to Settings, then Linked devices, then Link a device.
5. Scan the QR code on your screen.
6. The dashboard shows Scan received. Saving it on the agent, about a minute. Wait for it to finish.

Start chatting

Open your Message yourself chat in WhatsApp (the chat with your own number) and send a message. Your agent replies there.

The number you linked is the only one your agent answers. Other people messaging that number won't get replies from your agent.

Good to know

• It's a linked device. Your agent appears in WhatsApp's Linked devices list, like WhatsApp Web. Removing it there disconnects your agent.
• It's its own conversation. WhatsApp chats are separate from the dashboard chat. Your agent has the same memory and files everywhere, but not the same chat history.
• Keep it tidy. Long messages are hard to read on a phone. Ask for short replies, or ask the agent to save long results to a file in Files.

If it doesn't work

• The QR code expired. Close the window and click Connect WhatsApp again for a fresh code.
• Scanned, but no replies. Make sure you're writing in your own "Message yourself" chat. Check your agent's status on Agents and start it if it's stopped.
• It stopped working after a while. Check Linked devices on your phone. If the agent is no longer listed, disconnect in the dashboard and link again.

Frequently asked questions

Will my agent read my other WhatsApp chats?

It's set to answer only the number you linked, in your own "Message yourself" chat. As with any linked device, only link WhatsApp to an agent you trust, and don't ask it to act on other chats.

Can I use WhatsApp and Telegram at the same time?

Yes. Connect both from the Messaging apps window. Each one is a separate conversation with the same agent.

How do I disconnect WhatsApp?

Open the Messaging apps window and click Disconnect. You can also remove the device from Linked devices in WhatsApp.

Can someone else on my team message the agent on WhatsApp?

No. The agent answers only the number that linked it. A teammate who wants their own agent needs their own seat.
